Introduction to RPA and Microsoft Power Automate Desktop

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a kind of automation where software bots mimic human actions to complete a task. Repetitive and Rule-based human actions can be automated easily with various RPA tools.

This can be easily understood by the below terms:

  • Robotic: Software bots that mimic human actions.

  • Process: Sequence of steps that should be followed to complete a task.

  • Automation: Task that can be done without human intervention.

There are many RPA tools available in the market in order to automate the tasks like Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath & Microsoft Power Automate.

Among these Microsoft - Power Automate was first introduced in 2019 and later in 2020, Microsoft - Power Automate Desktop (M-PAD) was introduced.

Power Automate Desktop (PAD) enables to automate both Desktop & Web actions using the prebuilt drag-and-drop actions. This is fairly a new tool compared to other existing tools but quickly picking up as the new hot skill in the market.
